DAY. FOR. IT.
With guests present from America, Ireland, Australia and England, Aunty Niamh absoluuuutely took one for the team (forever in your debt) and organised a full family activity for everyone's last day.
And what an DAY she pulled off.
We (Mum, Mama, Shane, Evie and I) started the morning with a little trip to Ballyseedy (a local cafe / garden centre). Where Evie - as usual - demanded sausages, and I - as usual - spent most the time chasing her around when the sausage bribery inevitably ran out.
We spruced up, Vanessa joined the party, and the table was set. Out on the front patio, was the most amazing spread, complete with mini easels, and a host of other artsy trimmings.
Everyone arrived, Mama nearly got taken out by a rogue umbrella, and all the guests aquainted themselves. My fave moment, should I need to choose but one, might be my Grandma asking neighbour Eileen 'So.. WHO are you, then??' 😂😂 meaning of course, 'how are you related to the fam?' ..but the bluntness was just the funniest.
Evie decided this was the primo time to nap, so as the painting commenced we plonked ourselves next to the action, enjoying the view (both of the river and my Grandma in Mark's Park City cap, with her tongue stuck out in concentration), and chuckling at all the jibes thrown back and forth along the table.
Niamh put on a cracker of a show as head painter, leading the troops through their depiction of a twilight lighthouse scene, giving all artists their fair share of encouragement and praise.
Some golden moments (shouts across the table) included:
'Jake. STOP PAINTING'
'Kris, you're playing a blinder'
'Sharon, cop yourself on there now'
Or the tumbleweed rolling past when Vanessa asked for some feedback.
Eileen also copped a telling off for using the wrong end of the pencil.
This may not carry as much comedic value it the written form, but I can assure you - it was hilarious 😆
SUCH a beautiful day. SUCH wonderful food. All that bants - heart could burst.
Shout out to Niamh, you really put some graft in to make our weekend so special, I am so grateful for you! Standby for some return on your investment whenst you come visit us next year 😉❤️🇦🇺
The following day arrived, meaning alllll the visitors (Mark, Katharyn, Katharyn’s Mum Kris, her friend Sharon, Mum and Mama) were due to depart. Bit emosh it was, after being a full gang for the weekend!
We took Mum and Mama for one more see ya later to the doggos, followed by breakkie at the Marina Market
(the food is positively BANGIN'), where Evie adored chasing the birds around 'oh no! Birdie!'
I bought a new green jasper bracelet for ✨womb connection✨ (can never be too connected to one's womb) and we bid farewell, or a seeeeeee ya soon, to the gals.
Phew.
What a weekend.
❤️
